Employment Connections:

Thank you for your interest in working with The Women’s Connection Employment Connections program.  As a neighborhood center providing support and resources to women, children, and families, we are glad to be of assistance during your search for employment and self-sufficiency.  We offer the following:

 One-on-one Assistance

  • Identifying needs and barriers, as well as setting realistic goals
  • Creating a plan of action to work toward your employment goals
  • Workshops both at the center and in collaboration with other employment agencies.

    • Continuing Education
    • Employment/Career Opportunities
  • Referrals for
    • Job Fairs
    • Employment Services
    • Removing barriers to employment
    • Continuing education (training, ABLE/GED classes, etc.) to increase your employability
    • Community Resources
    • Volunteer Opportunities
    • Any other social services needed to carry out your employment search and to make your travels on the road to self-sufficiency smoother
  • Employment Needs
    • Use of computers, fax machine, phone, and copiers
    • Searching for jobs
      • We have a limited number of available job openings posted in the center
      • We’ll assist you in conducting online searches using CareerBuilder, Craigslist, ADECCO, Groove Jobs, America’s Job Bank, EARN, and other sites
      • Using individual company and organizational websites to search for current employment opportunities and careers
    • Resume writing
      • You can use our computers to create your resume in MS Word, the industry standard for resumes (particularly for use in online searching)
      • We have laser printers and resume paper available to print out your resume
      • We offer instructions for what to include on your resume, tips on how to list your skills
      • WE DO NOT DO YOUR RESUME FOR YOU!
      • Tips for creating cover letters, thank you notes, and lists of references and the use of the computes to do so
