Success Stories from The Women’s Connection

Thanks to the dedicated support of our staff, our donors, our volunteers and our board, The Women’s Connection was able to serve over 4000 participants in 2006. From developing our community’s youth to promoting better parenting, from providing resources for families to empowering women to employment, from support to enrichment groups, our programs have grown to cover a broad base of community needs.

During the past year, over 2,000 women, children and families were active in our Employment, Enrichment, and Education programs. Nearly 1,000 children participated in our Annual Back to School Fair. And nearly 10,000 neighbors were invited to learn more about the expanding Women’s Connection through programs, newsletters, and events.

Below are a few stories shared by our participants:

  •  Sue, Employment Connections:

"My name is Suzanne and I am 56 years old.  Recently, I needed help with a new resume to re-enter the work force.  The Women's Connection was my life saver.  I attended their job fair, received help building my resume, was provided with referrals to gain the skills I needed in my job search, and was invited to many other TWC programs.

The women at the center are professional in what they do and they helped me in any way I needed.  I loved the Price Hill Women's Health Fair that TWC helped organize, too!"

  •  Crystal and Family, Participant:

"The Women's Connection has been an inspiring influence in my life as well as my children's lives.  It is a breath of fresh air and a great place to find support to move on to a prosperous life!  Thanks, and I love all of you for being there for us!"

  •  Isabel, Hispanic Outreach Participant:

"TWC has women who understand other women.  They help Hispanic women by offering wonderful resources and workshops.  And, most importantly, they give information about events and programs for Hispanic women and families.  I love the Hispanic ladies night because we all have time to share.  The language is not an obstacle at TWC because they have an amazing woman who loves to help Hispanic women."
